My roommate and I chilling in the athlete area with Harvey between events.
My first year watching instead of competing in Wodapalooza was different but enjoyable at the same time. I saw so many old friends there was never a shortage of hugs and how are you’s. Every year the event just gets bigger and better and this was no exception. Unlike other events where you’re confined to a convention center, I really feel like you get a taste of Miami being out at Bayfront Park all weekend on the water. Being able to walk around and socialize all weekend it felt more like a fitness party than a competition. Definitely a festival with 3 stages always running heats, music playing at each one, live entertainment between division changes, and light shows at night. I’m excited to be a part of the competition again next year because the programming is always a blast too.
I had a few friends competing in the team divisions as well. I’d like to come back and do I individual, but eventually I think team competitions will be fun too! I did get to play one more role besides spectator for the weekend. I put in my PT hat and dry needled Sam Briggs’ heel to treat her plantae fasciitis. She said it took her pain from a 10/10 to a 3/10 so that was pretty dang cool, and she won the whole event again.
Enough jabber, here’s my pictures from the weekend!
